This video demonstrates
how to make a string or cord using a yucca leaf for fibers. You
can you this same technique on other long leaf plants and on
stalks such as thistle and milk weed.
Demonstration of how to
make a bow drill fire from all natural materials using a piece
of a pine knot, cat tail stalk, a willow limb, a random stick
and a yucca leaf. I came up with a unique way to provide tension
on the string without breaking the cat tail drill using a finger
loop.
