Father and son camp out

The location is Talbot County, GA just outside of the city of
Talbotton.
Students may campout on Friday night and/or Saturday night.
Camping is $10 per person per night and the lesson is $55 for
adults and $45 per child.
The lesson will cover a variety of topics with a lot of
hands on. The age range of the youth is 10 and up for this class.

This course is designed to give the student confidence in the woods
by understanding natural hazards and knowing what to do in emergency
situations. The following topics are addressed: "What to do when lost",
"The survival mentality", "Natural hazards and risk management",
"Preventing injuries and treatment", "Camp site selection", "Natural
shelters", "Water collection and purification", "Outdoor hygiene",
"Modern survival kits" |

This course goes beyond the basics to cover "Fire making methods",
"Fire making 'Outside the box'", "Knots and where to use them",
"Signaling", "Maps", "Compass" and "Navigation" |

| "Cordage Class" |
This course teaches the various uses
of string and cord in the woods and how to make cord from natural
materials. The topics covered are "Cordage material
selection", "Cordage fibers from trees", "Cordage from plants", "How to
make cord", "Knots for natural fibers", "Making fishing line and hooks" |

March 10th
"Primitive Fire Making Class" |
This class will teach the student how to make fires by friction and
how to select materials that are found in the state of Georgia. The full
day course will cover friction fire making with the bow drill, pump drill,
hand drill and demonstrate the fire piston. Also covered is how to make a fire with wet
wood. The full day class is from 9:00 till 4:00pm. The half day course
is from 9:00am- 12:00pm. Both include a bow drill kit. |

| "Primitive Cooking Class" - Part 1 |
This course consists teaches the student how to cook with only natural
materials. Topics are "Cooking on a spit",
"Making a clay oven", "Baking in the coals", "Frying and baking on
rocks" and the "Sweet gum grilling basket". A lot of
hands on and good eat'un. |

| "Primitive Cooking Class" - Part 2 |
This is a continuation of the above class. The topics covered
are: "Cleaning and cooking game and fish", "Stone and wooden bowls",
"Fire lays for cooking", "The green wood grill", "Rock boiling" and
"pit steaming" |

|
"Trees-Plants- And How To Use Them Class" Part 1 |
The first 8 hour class will cover the following topics: "Gathering
food from plants and trees", "Making Collection containers", "Cookware",
and "Preserving and storage". How to use rosin from pine trees
and its use in camp and using raw hide. |

Part 2- and "Traps"
|
The second class will cover "Uses for plants
and trees around the camp", "Medicine" and "Uses for plants and trees
for personal hygiene". Also covered will be "Animal tracks and signs",
"Traps and snares", "Fishing and Fish Baskets", How
to use rocks |

| "Private Lessons- Adults" |
Private lessons can be on any of the above
listed
topics. Select the max number of people participating. The class Includes a notebook and
personalized training. If the class is a "Primitive Cooking" class or
"Rocks, Resin and Raw Hide", then add the "Class supplies fee" of $10
per person to your cart using the drop box to the right.
If your private
lessons are for a group that includes military, students, or children
such as in a family, call so I can adjust the price accordingly before
making your selection. |

For groups of more than 10 people. I will
provide an overview of outdoor skills that includes a combination of
some of the above topics. The format is more demonstration of skills
rather than personalized attention. Some demonstrations include making a
fire with a bow drill and hand drill, making cordage from leaves and
bark, and making wooden bowls and stone bowls. No notebook or class supplies are provided
but will be available for purchase at a reduced rate. If you would like

Home school
"Outdoor Skills 1" |
This class is offered for homeschooler from
9:00am to 12:00pm to teach some of the above outdoor skills.
The demonstrations and handouts can be used to supplement your
home school courses. A certificate will be awarded to students
completing the three classes. Class size is limited to 10. |
